Pierce Atwood Makes a Big Impact on Crossroads for Women’s Residential Rehab Facility

Pierce Atwood Day of Community ServiceAbout 35 – 40 attorneys and staff from Pierce Atwood LLP’s Portland office were at Crossroads for Women’s Windham, ME facility yesterday as part of their annual Day of Community Service. The crew worked hard all day painstakingly clearing bamboo, painting inside and out, gardening, mulching, planting, among other projects.

Their hard work left a big impact on Crossroads for Women’s staff and clients. The facility includes a 100 year old house and a separate building for its daycare. It houses the nonprofit agency’s Residential Rehabilitation and Children And Mothers Program (CAMP). (CAMP is the only program in Maine that allows moms to bring their minor children with them while they are in residential treatment for chemical dependency.) With 17 women, up to 12 kids, and staff in the house 24 hours per day and a focus on treatment, the agency doesn’t always have the time to do things like landscaping and painting fences.

The projects that Pierce Atwood completed helped make the house an even more warm and nurturing environment for Crossroads for Women’s clients. And staff are thankful that a local firm like Pierce Atwood showed its support for the work they do with women in recovery every day.

Thank you, Pierce Atwood!
