CAMP Individual and Group Counseling: The Best of Both Worlds

After a comprehensive assessment that is completed to determine the client’s needs and whether this program best meets those needs, each client creates a personalized treatment plan with her clinician when she enters into the Children And Mothers Program (CAMP). Individual and group counseling are an integral part of a client’s treatment plan.

Each week, CAMP clients meet with a licensed clinician assigned to them. These individualized counseling sessions address substance abuse and / or any mental health concerns specific to the client. Anything that is not being addressed in group sessions can be discussed in individual counseling.

In addition, a number of unique, women-only therapy groups are offered on a daily basis. Through group therapy, clients learn how to express their feelings with other women present. It is an important piece of Crossroads’ relational approach to treatment. Groups include Healthy Relationships, Medical Aspects of Chemical Dependency, Moms in Recovery, and Living Sober. In addition to intensive group therapy, our program also offers a strong 12 step component in which women attend AA/NA meetings daily.
