Crossroads Behavioral Health for Men

Crossroads offers a number of outpatient counseling services for men of all ages and backgrounds seeking evaluation and / or treatment for substance abuse and emotional health. A gender-specific treatment model is used, where men can focus on learning and coping with substance abuse and mental health issues in a safe and comfortable environment.

Treatment services are tailored to each individual, covering topics that specifically impact men and include:

  • Comprehensive assessments Crossroads helps men figure out what is going on, be it a mental health or substance abuse concern or both, and then guides them to where they need to be to live healthier. An initial evaluation and assessment of the appropriate level of care is completed with a licensed professional  and DEEP certified counselors in Maine. Psychiatric evaluations are also available to clients, if needed.
  • Individual, couples, family and group counseling Clients meet with an individual licensed clinician in therapy sessions to address substance abuse and/or mental health problems. In addition, a number of unique, men-only therapy groups are offered to men in recovery from substance abuse and/or mental health issues.
  • DEEP evaluation and treatment Anytime a person receives an OUI (Operating Under the Influence) in the state of Maine, the individual must enter into the Driver Education and Evaluation Programs (DEEP) process of the Impaired Driving Program. Crossroads is DEEP certified to provide evaluation and treatment for men of all ages who receive an OUI. Crossroad’s DEEP program Maine based is administered by the Office of Substance Abuse, Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) under the State of Maine Legislature. Find out more about DEEP
