Crossroads for Women will be participating in two upcoming women’s health events, both of which are being held on Saturday, May 19, 2007.
The Women’s Health Expo is from 7:30am until 3:30pm at Goodall Hospital in Sanford, Maine and is free and open to the public. The expo features 160 vendors of “unique products and services for women,” a variety of free health screenings, free food, lectures and demonstrations. They are even offering free childcare. Featured speakers include Dawn Huebner, PhD, author of the “Why Worry” children’s book series; Paul Tukey, gardener and HGTV host; and Vicki Monroe, international speaker and author. Visit the Goodall Hospital Women’s Health Expo website for more info.
Women’s Wellness Day, presented by MaineHealth, is from 8:00am until 4:00pm at the Sheraton in South Portland, Maine. The conference features a number of workshops of interest to women on topics such as heart health, sexuality, nutrition, menopause and depression. Martha Beck, New York Times best-selling author and Oprah Magazine columnist, will deliver the keynote address, “The True Self Has No Age.” A number of local health and well-being community resources will be exhibiting and Inanna: Sisters in Rhythm, an all women’s percussionist group, will perform. Registration is required, and the cost is $45.00. Download the brochure for more info.
Again, both events are on Saturday, May 19, 2007. If you go, stop by Crossroads for Women’s table and say hi. We’d love to meet you.
