The US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has organized a National Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 29, 2011 from 10:00am – 2:00pm. The day provides a place for people to safely dispose of unwanted and unused prescription drugs.
The DEA has held other take back days in the past with local law enforcement agencies around the country. According to the website, events this past April and September of last year collected more than 309 tons of pills and involved more than 4,000 state and local law enforcement agencies throughout the nation.
Considering all the talk about Maine’s problem with prescription drugs, we thought this would be a good event to share. You can find the closest collection site on the DEA website.
