Maine Association of Substance Abuse Programs (MASAP), Maine Alliance to Prevent Substance Abuse (MAPSA), Maine Alliance for Addiction Recovery (MAAR) and AdCare Educational Institute of Maine are co-sponsoring some free trainings for people that are concerned about alcohol and drug related problems in Maine and would like to make a difference by advocating for prevention, treatment and recovery policies, funding and services. The leadership trainings will be held in Portland and Bangor.

We invite you to participate in a one-day Advocacy Leadership Training Institute. The institute is open to anyone who is concerned about alcohol and drug related problems in Maine and would like to make a difference by advocating for prevention, treatment and recovery policies, funding and services.
A distinguished faculty of state and legislative officials, executives and experts will provide the information you need to enhance your advocacy skills so that you become empowered to make a difference!
Expectations
The institutes will provide the latest information, strategies and skills so that participants feel comfortable and confident when advocating for funding or policies.
The expectation for participants is that they will:
· Attend the one-day leadership advocacy institute.
· Join us to advocate for AOD policy & funding changes that will address these problems while strengthening Maine communities.
