Crossroads Announces Opening of the Back Cove Residential Program for Women
The innovative new program offers cutting edge substance abuse treatment to women from all over the country
SCARBOROUGH, Maine (January 17, 2014) – In February 2014, Crossroads will open the doors to a brand new program catering to women seeking a serene spot in which to get away and start their road to recovery free from alcohol and drug abuse. The Back Cove Residential Program will serve as a premier recovery destination for women from all over the country, offering holistic treatment in a beautiful Maine setting.
In addition to cutting edge gender-responsive addiction and emotional health treatment, this new program takes a holistic approach that includes yoga, equine therapy, acupuncture and other complementary services. Family members and loved ones of Back Cove Residential Program clients will also be able to find support, helping everyone in the healing process. The residential program is located in Crossroads’ former halfway house, a historic John Calvin Stevens house, near beautiful Back Cove in Portland.
“I am excited to open this new program for Crossroads,” says executive director Shannon Trainor. “After losing state funding for our halfway house program, we took a good look at the services that were needed for women in Maine and beyond and responded. This program addresses each woman with mind, body and spirit in focus – treating the whole person – and not just the addiction. Without reliance on the state for funding, we can provide the cutting edge gender-responsive treatment Crossroads is known for and offer it to women all over the country.”
The Back Cove Residential Program is open to women 18 and over and accepts private insurance and self-pay. Patient scholarships are available to those who qualify. Those interested in finding out more about the program can visit the Crossroads website at www.crossroadsme.org or call our intake department at 207.773.9931.
