September is National Drug & Alcohol Addiction Recovery Month in the United States. Sponsored by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration’s (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT), the month provides a platform to celebrate people in recovery and those who serve them.
Maine will be celebrating with several events statewide. Here are some of the events currently planned:
Bangor
Broadening the Base for Recovery: Promoting Recovery Pathways in the 21st Century, a Bangor area summit on addiction recovery featuring Maine Attorney General Steven Rowe

Speakers, panel discussion & breakout groups for community-focused discussions
Reception and recovery celebration from 4:00pm – 6:00pm

Our Stories Have Power, a media workshop for people in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction

Recovery & Wellness Resource Fair
